We operate our hospital outpatient service primarily through the Task view of SmartFlow but have come up with some communication issues between different parts of the hospital associated with when things get checked off.

For example, when we order a CBC there are actually several steps to this that are usually completed by different people: Blood drawn, Test run, Results delivered to DVM. Our receptionists struggle with the value of a checked off CBC in SmartFlow because the timing between these 3 parts of running a CBC can vary significantly depending on the day & patient load.

While it would be great if people would add the 3 sub tasks to the CBC every time that it is ordered, few have the patience. However - if we could template the CBC task so that when it was ordered it came with 3 sub tasks every time then the value of the communication part of this tool would be significantly improved.

Let me know what you think or if you have other ideas to manage a simple procedure such as this that actually has multiple steps completed by varied people!
