When a new treatment sheet is started all treatments start at that hour. For cases of toxins where there is a template and then medication is given at set times after admission it would be nice to not have the treatments start at time 0. For instance, activated charcoal, it would be nice to have a dose of antiemetic scheduled at hour 0 and have the activated charcoal with sorbitol as a first dose 1 hour later, then the activated charcoal without sorbitol should start 6 hours after that. Currently this templated treatment would require going in and doing it manually for both charcoal doses. This is time consuming.
Second is for vital signs. Typically a vital sign assessment would be performed initially, however, if this is done at 7:59 and the treatment sheet is made up at 8:00, then it puts another vital sign assessment at 8. This is frustrating for the technicians and a serious pain for the doctors to remove from the computer. Being able to set a start vital assessment at 4 or 6 hours after admission as part of the template would be very helpful.
