I like this idea.  It would be helpful as we use the colors to signify the department managing the case for quick reference visually.  Sometimes staff forgets to change the color as it takes 3 clicks.  It would definitely be more convenient with busy case loads.  Most of our templates are by department anyway so win win.

This would be helpful for the following reasons

1) current way to change background is to go into patient and edit the color.  This takes time and usually does not happen

expectation of a change would be the following

1) staff creates a sheet and places animal in lobby or other location.  The background for outpatient template is a color say blue.  Now from across the room a staff can see a patient is ready to be placed in a room.     This would be color coded either by location or template being used.  We could make it work either way 

helps with animal location and urgency / triage up in the lobby

Less steps by staff and increase efficiency 

currently staff walk up towards TV to see what is next. Color code will help that occur faster and more efficient
