When notating an IV catheter the only available options are for a cephalic, jugular, or saphenous catheters. However, sometimes we place a pedal, medial saphenous, or in rare cases an arterial. There is unotunately no option for noting this. This would be super helpful going forward to keep everything clear between nurse shift changes.
+ Dorsal Pedal!
Additional Caths are always placed under ER care, Add additional options
There is currently a box next to the cath locations where alternate locations can be noted. I would like to see the ability to notate more than one cath made available though.
Yes please! Being limited to 3 catheter locations does not allow for accurate record keeping of IVs being placed in less commonly utilized veins. I would also VERY much like to see an option for additional IVC locations/dates as well as type (if a central line, etc).
This is incredibly frustrating in our hospital, as we often have multiple catheters in place. Additionally it would be great to include central lines, arterial lines, Indwelling urinary catheters etc.
Being able to track the placement date of each one would be great.

This would be ideal. We rarely have a patient with only 1 IVC. Please make this a reality.
Thanks
An option to notate multiple catheters including central lines, picc lines and art lines would be amazing
This would be a great feature!
This would be a super helpful option to have for many surgical patients!
Most of our patients have 2 or more IV catheters at any given time. It would be great to have the ability to document this.
Better than the pdfs
After speaking with a client and making a quick mock up thoughts on this?
The open box is somewhat helpful. However, there is still no option for notating front/rear limb, or media/lateral saphenous. Ther are also different length catheters that we may use, i.e. sampling lines, jugular catheters, and whether or not it may be a single vs double vs triple lumen.
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you very much for adding this idea! Do you know that we have an option allowing to enter any type of catheter you need? All you need to do is to use the blank field on the right side of catheter options and click "Done". Could you please check screenshots attached below? Is that helpful for you?
Please let us know if we understood your request correctly or if you need any further help!
Sincerely,
Smart Flow Team
