Prompt re finalizing anaesthetic sheet

We keep running into problems where staff members are forgetting to finalise an anaesthetic sheet at the end of surgery. It is usually caught upon attempting to discharge the patient, but in some cases the pet stays in hospital for a number of days and the anaesthetic sheet just keeps recording nothing. 
This makes it take a VERY long time to finalise (understandably). 
 
We were hoping to suggest having some kind of notification/prompt if an anaesthetic sheet has been left open perhaps say when adding another 24hrs, or even just if no data has been added in more than 30min-1hr?
 
Anyone else have the same issue?

    At least make it to where we can see open sheets and close them
